Legendary guitar man, Bo Diddley, dead at the age of 79

Rock pioneer Bo Diddley, whose signature beat laid the foundation for decades of tunes by artists from Buddy Holly to U2, has died at 79. His black hat and “cigar box” guitar made him a distinctive figure, but it was the rhythm he laid down that became a rock staple.
