How much of a choice is it? Sure, it may hit closer to home with the Versace family, but women in general are subject to these pressures every day. Body dismorphia and eating disorders are serious issues and the fashion industry has had a large part in creating an unattainable ideal.
My feeling is more that it’s quite ironic that she’s fallen victim to an illness that the industry which her family owes it’s livelihood to has helped perpetuate.
